Drywall work and suspended ceilings in Belgrade

Suspended ceilings, partition walls, niches and finishes. Drywall work in Belgrade: suspended ceilings, plasterboard partition walls, niches, pipe boxing and finishing around windows and doors. It is dry construction, without plaster or masonry, so the layout of a space can be changed without wet work.

About the service

Frame, boards and joints

The base is a metal frame: profiles are fixed to the ceiling, floor and walls, and plasterboard is screwed onto them. A partition has boards on both sides of the studs, with mineral wool placed between them to reduce sound passing between rooms. The board joints are taped and filled with compound, and the surface is then ready for skimming and paint.

The board is chosen for the room: moisture-resistant board in bathrooms and kitchens, fire-resistant board where higher fire resistance is needed. If kitchen units, a television or loaded shelves will hang on the wall, reinforcement is built in at that spot before the wall is closed, because the board alone does not carry a heavier load. Edges and corners are protected with metal or plastic corner beads embedded in the compound so that knocks do not damage the board, and around windows and doors plasterboard is also used to straighten the reveals after new frames are fitted.

A suspended ceiling and the services above it

A suspended ceiling usually hides something: lighting wiring, a waste pipe from the flat above, a ventilation duct or an uneven slab. All the cables and pipes running above it must be finished before it is closed, and where access will be needed, as at a valve or a junction box, inspection hatches are left.

The price changes with the area, the drop height, the number of levels and corners, recessed lights and LED channels, and whether a new wall has to fit existing out-of-true walls and ceiling. That is why the ceiling and wall are measured at the address and the light layout is agreed before work starts, so that boards do not have to be cut afterwards.

Questions

Questions and answers

Drywall work: how much does the call-out cost?
A booked call-out within working hours and within the regular service area costs 2.500 RSD. Labour, materials and parts are billed separately from the call-out. An expert inspection on site and a quotation for larger works are charged 4.000 RSD, and if you accept the quotation, the amount paid is credited in full against the agreed price of the works.
Who supplies the materials?
The client can supply the materials, or by agreement we can source them. When we source the materials, the client receives a clear breakdown of the materials installed and the work done.
Drywall work: is there an emergency call-out?
No. Emergency call-outs cover plumbing faults, electrical faults and locks. Work in this trade is scheduled during working hours, Monday to Saturday from 08 to 16.
Which parts of Belgrade do you cover?
We work all over Belgrade. The regular service area is eight municipalities: Stari Grad, Palilula, Zvezdara, Vozdovac, Vracar, Savski Venac, New Belgrade and Zemun. For the other parts of the city the call out price is confirmed when booking, and for addresses outside Belgrade availability and arrival terms are checked by phone or enquiry.
Can a plasterboard wall carry kitchen units?
Yes, if reinforcement has been built in behind the board at that spot or the wall is made with double boarding. On a wall that is already closed, lighter items are hung with cavity wall anchors, while for a heavy load the reinforcement is planned before closing.
How much does a suspended ceiling lower the room?
As much as whatever is hidden above it requires. The frame itself needs little space, while recessed lights, ventilation ducts and waste pipes need a bigger drop, so the height is set after measuring.
Is plasterboard used in bathrooms?
Yes, with moisture-resistant boards and waterproofing on the part of the wall that comes into contact with water. That is how frames around a concealed cistern, niches in the shower area and pipe boxing are made, with tiles laid over them.
